Celebrate Earth Day by picking up trash! Trash is not only unsightly, it harms wildlife and degrades habitat. This April 23, help beautify our rivers, creeks, trails and parks by volunteering for a cleanup activity organized by either the City of Sacramento or The American River Parkway Foundation with a total of 17 locations to choose from. Go as an individual or organize a group -- several are even family friendly.

The City of Sacramento is hosting the “Great Sacramento Clean-up Event” with 9 diverse sites in the Capital region. More information is available on the City’s website or the HandsOn Sacramento Calendar.

The American River Parkway Foundation’s annual “Spring Clean-up” is back after a two year hiatus with 8 locations along the Parkway. For more information visit https://arpf.org/events/springcleanup/

Be sure to wear appropriate clothing. Tools are provided (but if you have a bucket and grabber to bring that’s good too). Registration is required.
