Join us online on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 7pm for Survival in an unpredictable world: how birds flexibly respond to environmental stressors presented by Jamie Cornelius. This meeting will be held via ZOOM. You must register for the meeting, but there is no cost to register and you do not have to be a member of the Sacramento Audubon Society.

Jamie Cornelius is Assistant Professor of Integrative Biology at Oregon State University and a 2022 National Geographic Explorer. She received her B.S. in Zoology at the University of Washington and doctoral degree in animal behavior from UC Davis. After graduating she was a post-doctoral scholar at the Max Planck Institute in Germany and won a Fulbright fellowship to work in Russia at St. Petersburg State. Her first faculty job was at Eastern Michigan University and finally landed at Oregon State University (OSU) in 2019 as an assistant professor of Integrative Biology. She has two boys, age 6 and 8, who are great field assistants and her husband Taylor is a shark biologist at OSU. Her research program is focused on how birds cope with unpredictability and she is currently building research programs around the problems of storms, drought, and fire. 

The meeting will be held via ZOOM. You must register for the meeting, but you do not need a ZOOM account to join the meeting. Registration is required due to space limitations set by Zoom.
