Sacramento Valley Young Birders Club
Our Student Board Member, Mackenzie Hollender, is proud to announce that she is working with The Board to create a Young Birders Club for youth birders in the Sacramento Valley. Her goal is that this program will give young birders in our region more opportunities to put their love of birds into action. She also hopes that the club will help local young birders connect with one another. The Sacramento Audubon Society will be the host of the club, but membership will not be limited to Sacramento County. Any youth bird enthusiast aged 11 to 18 residing in the Sacramento Valley is welcome to join!
To become a member, fill out the form on the Young Birders Club webpage. You can find the form by clicking the "Go Birding" drop down menu on the Sacramento Audubon website. Membership is free. Members are recommended to install the free Slack Messaging Platform. The Slack Messaging Platform will be the space that young birders will communicate and share things with each other outside of field trips and events. Club members will learn about the valley's vast variety of birds and how they interact with the region’s unique ecosystems through our monthly field trips. Young birders will also be introduced to a variety of opportunities, such as participating in citizen science, leading field trips, attending bird talks, museum visits, and more! The Young Birders Club is a great way for young birders to make new connections and experience the camaraderie of birding with other passionate young people.
