Field Trip Leader: Cathie LaZier
Want to do something non-commercial on Black Friday? Meet Cathie at the main CRP parking lot and we’ll walk along the flooded wetlands, down to the boardwalk and out, and circle back on the loop trail. We’ll be looking for Sandhill Cranes, geese, and a variety of duck species. Yellowlegs and Wilson’s Snipe will be in the shallower water, and other shorebirds are possible. This is a great trip for beginners. Scopes are helpful if you have one. You may want to bring lunch for afterwards; there are picnic tables behind the visitor center. Heavy rain cancels.
Meeting Location: Meet Cathie at the main visitor center parking lot.
Directions: (These directions are different from the usual ones but factor in some recent road construction.) Take I-5 south from Sacramento, exit on Twin Cities Rd, Exit #498.
