Education Programs

Presentations for Kids and Adults

Given by Sacramento Audubon birders and naturalists, our 30 - 60 minute presentations are available for a variety of audiences from school groups to garden clubs. An Audubon volunteer will work with your group to find the right program.

  • Skulls, Tracks, Feathers, and Eggs - an up-close look at bones and skulls, tracks and scat, nests and eggs, wings and feathers, and learn about mammals and birds and the clues they leave us.

  • Skulls, Tracks, Feathers and Eggs for Preschoolers - this is a simplified version of our Skulls, Bones and Tracks presentation for younger ones with plenty of hands-on exploration.

  • Common Birds of Sacramento - includes calls and interesting facts about size, shape, and habits of birds

  • Why Do Birds Do That? - a look at bird behaviors

  • Bird Courtship Behaviors - how different species attract mates

  • Bird Habitats of Sacramento County - how different habitats influence the birds seen there.

Contact the Education Committee about a presentation for your group or to get more information.

Bird Walks for Groups

Scouting groups, homeschool groups, garden clubs, and families are just some of those who have joined us for educational bird walks in the greater Sacramento Area. We’ll help you chose a great location and set you up with an expert leader.

Contact the Education Committee about a bird walk for your group or to get more information.

There is no cost for our walks or presentations. Our hope is that participants will be inspired to join additional Sacramento Audubon activities and develop a deeper interest in the environment. However, donations are always welcome.

If you would like to volunteer to help with a Sacramento Audubon educational program contact the Education Committee.
