Field Trip: Hidden Falls Regional Park

Registration is required for this trip and is limited to 8 participants.
This trip is FULL.

Field Trip Leader: Peter Perrine

Hidden Falls Regional Park is a beautiful example of the Sierra Nevada foothills in the transition zone between oak woodlands and grey pines. An eBird hotspot, with more than 115 bird species found here (so far), it is a very popular destination not only for wildlife, but also for its scenic beauty and waterfalls. Expect to see a good variety of oak woodland and riparian birds, with early nesters beginning to display, and the usual wintering birds still in good numbers. This will be a somewhat strenuous trip of about five miles to the main falls and back. The first mile from the trailhead descends about 300 feet to a small stream, which means a one mile climb at the end of the day. Not steep, but trails here can be slippery after a rain. Bring water and snacks, or lunch if you wish - there are picnic tables and a restroom near the parking lot.

Meeting Location: Directions and confirmation of exact meeting location and time will be provided to registrants.
