This trip is specifically designed for beginning to more experienced birders in a location with paved trails, handicapped parking, and fully accessible restrooms. Whether you walk, use a wheelchair, or a walker, this trip is for you. We will travel along paved trails and hard-packed dirt at Lake Solano Park, a short drive from Sacramento. This location offers a wonderful opportunity to see a wide variety of bird species. Please bring an $8 parking fee. Bring water, a snack, and a smart phone if you have one.

Meeting Location: Meet Paul in the Parking Lot, Lake Solano Park, 8685 Pleasants Valley Road, Winters, CA.

Directions: From Sacramento, take I-80 West (26 miles) to HWY 505 (11 miles), at Winters/CA128 exit. Turn left onto CA128 go (5.3 miles). Turn left onto Pleasants Valley Road/County Road 86.

COVID 19 Precautions:

  • All participants must register in advance to attend this field trip. Registration for this field trip will be limited to 6 participants.

  • All participants, including field trip leaders, must be vaccinated.
