Field Trip: River Walk Park, West Sacramento

This is a newer area for Sac Audubon and should turn up a variety of passerine species, sparrows, wrens, thrushes and more. We’ll bird the river from the boat landing, then walk south past the I Street and Tower Bridges and up onto the levee. The walk should end by noon. 

Meeting Location: Meet Bill at the Broderick Boat Ramp.

From Sacramento, go west on US 50, take the Jefferson Blvd. off ramp, once on the ramp it splits (Y), take the right split. You will come to 5th Street, stay to the left, and turn left at the light. Stay on 5th Street, going north, cross Sacramento Ave and go one block and turn right on B Street. Go one block, come to 4th St., turn left and go a short distance to Boat Ramp Entrance and parking area.

From Davis, go east on US 50, take Jefferson Blvd. off ramp. Turn left on Jefferson Blvd., stay on Jefferson, come to Sacramento Ave, turn right on to Sacramento Ave. Continue on Sacramento Ave. to 5th Street. At 5th Street make a left turn at the light and go one block and turn right on B Street. Go one block, come to 4th Street, turn left and go a short distance to the boat ramp entrance and parking area.
