Late July heat can be brutal in the Sacramento Valley, but shorebirds migrate south anyway. Join Maureen to see what might be present at the Water Treatment Plant in Woodland and, if water is present, the nearby Farm Pond on Road 102. There is no shade, so water and sunscreen are musts, and there are no restrooms. This trip will end mid- to late morning depending on conditions.

Directions: To reach the WWTP, take I-5 from Sacramento continuing past the Airport turn off to the first Woodland Exit, #536 Road 102. Go south on Road 102 about one mile to the light at Road 24 on the left and Gibson Road to the right. Turn left onto Road 24 and continue to the gravel parking area near the North Pond.

COVID 19 Precautions: All participants, including field trip leaders, must be vaccinated.
