Hike and Seek: Wildlife Tracking

This is a Folsom Lake State Recreation Area and Folsom Powerhouse State Historic Park event. Registration is required.

Are you curious about what lurks around the Folsom Lake Area? Come find out with Senior Park Aide Leenna, as we explore and discover the wildlife along the trail. This is a great activity/opportunity for wildlife enthusiasts to learn how to identify signs of activity, scat, and tracks. This hike will cover about 3 - 3.5 miles, with uneven terrain and some slight ups and downs. All participants will be provided with a basic wildlife tracking guide, but you may bring a guide of your own. All ages are welcomed, but please no dogs as this is a wildlife tracking hike.

It is recommended that you bring binoculars, hand lens, and as always bring plenty of water and snacks. This event will go on rain or shine (the best time for tracking is in the rain or after rain!), but if it is too windy and pouring, the event will be canceled. Make sure to wear proper footwear and attire as it might be muddy out, especially after and during the rain.

To RSVP, please fill out this form:  https://forms.gle/523zuVLhK9TbeDHa8.

You will receive a confirmation email a few days after your RSVP, and it will include meeting information and preparation for the event.  If you need to cancel your RSVP please let us know ASAP as this will allow others the opportunity to join the event. If you have any questions, email folsomlake@ports-ca.us for more information or call (916) 336-0181.
