Sacramento Picks It Up! North Natomas Regional Park Cleanup

  • North Natomas Regional Park N Park Drive and Banfield Drive Sacramento, CA 95835 (map)

Event dates and details may change. Be sure to check the SPIU! Facebook page prior to proceeding to an event.

Location: North Natomas Regional Park

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Difficulty Levels: 1-5

SPIU has hosted cleanups at the pond inside North Natomas Regional Park previously, and it’s needed again. The area in and around this popular fishing pond is also home to egrets and herons who build nests in the trees. There is trash in and out of the water plus fishing line and tackle that can harm the quality of the water and does OFTEN physically harm the ducks, geese, herons, egrets and other waterfowl that call this spot home.

This is a joint cleanup effort with SHER, Sacramento Heron & Egret Rescue! Please join the group from 9am-11am on foot or in your kayak and help improve this area for wildlife and for everyone that recreates here!

This is a level 1-5 cleanup, meaning there is trash for any and all abilities. The perimeter of the pond and park can be walked and cleaned via a paved path, OR on the gentle slope of the lawn leading down to the water, OR at the water’s edge, OR in the water via kayak.

This site has been home to a heron and egret rookery, so birders and wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy helping make these birds’ home a safer place!

The meeting spot will be near the pond at N Park Drive and Banfield Drive just off Natomas Blvd. Parking is available on side streets along the pond on N Park Drive.

Please BYOB (buckets) & G (gloves and grabbers). SPIU! will provide bags and will have some extra grabbers and tools if needed!
