SAS Field Trip: Sacramento Bar

Registration is NOT required for this field trip.

Field Trip Leader: Rich Howard

Join Rich for a morning walk checking out the oak woodland and American River for local resident birds and winter visitors. Possible birds include Phainopepla and California Quail. We may get a chance to look through groups of gulls and sparrows, too! This is a good trip for both beginners and experienced birders. We will walk about 3 miles on mostly packed dirt trails, with some narrower cobbly sections. A restroom is available in the parking area.

Meeting Location: Meet Rich at the parking lot off Pennsylvania Ave. From Highway 50, drive north on Sunrise Blvd, turn left on Fair Oaks Blvd. and take the first left on Pennsylvania and follow it into the park. A Sac County Park Pass or $7 entry fee is required for all vehicles.
