On August 26th and 27th, Cosumnes River Preserve is holding volunteer naturalist training at the Visitor Center. This 2-day training is a great opportunity to learn about the preserve's natural and cultural history, the native flora and fauna, as well as the history of the Preserve and the partners that contribute to making this place what it is today.

A few highlights of the training include:

  • A bird walk by John Trochet

  • A presentation about wetlands and Preserve habitats by Amy Fesnock our Preserve Manager

  • A presentation by Alex on the Preserves habitat restoration projects.

To learn more or register for the training, contact the Cosumnes River Preserve Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, Maddy Barton, at hillma@saccounty.gov.
