Want to do something non-commercial on Black Friday? Meet Rachael at Ancil Hoffman Park for this bird walk. We will loop around the golf course with a couple of side trips down to the river, and then walk through the Effie Yeaw nature study area. On our way back to the starting parking lot we will look for sparrows in the open field. This walk is approximately 3 miles with some up and down slopes and uneven footing. Wear comfortable shoes, and you may want to bring water or snacks. We’ll end the trip by noon. A Sac County Park Pass or $7 entry fee is required for all vehicles. 

Meeting Location: Meet Rachael at Ancil Hoffman Park in the first parking lot near the ranger kiosk.  

Directions: Ancil Hoffman Park is located on Tarshes Drive in Carmichael. From U.S. Highway 50, take the Watt Avenue off-ramp. Head north to Fair Oaks Blvd. and turn right. Follow Fair Oaks Blvd. to Van Alstine and turn right. Turn left onto California Ave., then right at the park entrance.
