Field Trip Leader: Maureen Geiger
The Bobelaine Preserve, a 430-acre National Audubon Sanctuary on the Feather River, is a magical riparian forest of cottonwoods, sycamores, willows and other habitats which provides food and shelter for a wide variety of birds and wildlife. The trip will begin viewing the newly created pollinator gardens at the Preserve, designed to attract Monarch butterflies and other native insects which feed on nectar. Join Maureen for a 2.5 mile walk on grassy trails to the Rivers Overlook looking for resident and migrating birds. This walk involves climbing a steep levee to enter the Preserve and on return to the parking lot. An accessible port-a-potty is in the parking lot.
Directions and confirmation of exact meeting location and time will be provided upon registration.
