Join us and the UC Davis Birdwatching Club on this exciting and special field trip to the UC Davis Museum of Wildlife and Fish Biology! We will meet up with Museum docents and the UC Davis Birdwatching Club in the teaching lab of the museum at 8:30 am. From there we will be led on a tour of the bird specimens the museum contains. This is a unique and extraordinary opportunityto delve into the physiology, life histories, and morphology of bird species through specimens. The museum tour is expected to last an hour and 15 minutes. After the tour we will converse with the UC Davis Birdwatching Club. This field trip is a great opportunity to make connections and hear from college students about where you can take a passion for wildlife. For the last hour of our trip, we will be birding in the UC Davis Arboretum adjacent to the museum, where we expect to see riparian woodland birds such as Wood Ducks, Nuttall’s Woodpecker, Swainson’s Hawk, Tree Swallow, and more. Overall, we expect to learn a whole lot about our favorite creatures on this multi-faceted, one of a kind field trip.
