Bodega Bay Field Trip report from July 9
Leader Ron Storey reported: "There were thirteen people (including the leader) that met at Ellis Creek Water Recycling Facility in Petaluma. While the original intention was to do a short walk around Ellis Creek we only met there, as the birds were few, and left shortly after 9:00 and headed directly to Bodega Head at Bodega Bay. The whole day was spent birding off of Westshore Road (the north side of Bodega Harbor). The highlights of the day were Bald Eagle, Pigeon Guillemot roosting on the cliff at Bodega Bay, Common Murre roosting on a large rock a little offshore at Bodega Bay, Black Oystercatcher, Pelagic Cormorant, Brandt's Cormorant, and Marbled Godwit. Fun was had by all, and I don’t think anyone missed seeing a bird that was seen by others."
